Critical Chain
Written in the same style as The Goal and It's Not Luck, the story plots the experience of Rick, a young university Professor, who is long on teaching ability, but short on approved publications. The President of the university cancels all promotions and tenure grants in the school of business, which is a crushing blow to Rick. He sets about proving his value to the university's academic program by developing the management of projects to the point where the practical value to companies is of great benefit. Using the Theory of Constraints, the methodology is developed which enables Rick's students to manage their projects so as to be completed on time, within budget and to the original specification. All readers who have anything to do with projects, will be able to relate to this story, and will find the solutions both enlightening and practical.
